TEACHER/FACILITATOR
Don't you just love the MCCE Summer Tech Summit? That opportunity to have time and guidance in learning how to use a digital tool is priceless!
What makes this event different? Well, besides the great price, you have the opportunity to explore and create after you have been shown the digital tool(s). You are guided by educators (and students) who have used the tools in teaching and learning. You also have ample opportunity to meet other educators and build a network of colleagues to share ideas and resources.
One of our favorite things about the summit, besides hanging out with some very cool people, is the PRIZES! iPads, Chromebooks, gift cards and more!! Be sure to stick around until Wednesday afternoon for the prizes!
HOW DOES THE SUMMIT WORK?
Each session is 2.5 hours long. Why? To allow for a little bit of teaching, and a whole lot of exploring and creating with assistance. There are 2 sessions each day and we will have food trucks on site so you don't have to travel for lunch.
BYOD - Bring your own device, but if you don't have anything, we can check out a device to you. Bring power cords, USB cables, and any other support equipment you might need.
ATTENDANCE - Please be sure to sign in at each session. If your name is not on the attendance sheet, you will not get credit for that time. It is super, duper important to sign in. At the end of the summit, we will count your attendance hours and provide you with an OPI certificate. Please be sure to stick around so we aren't mailing a bunch of papers!
PRIZES - Oh no! You think we would ruin the suspense by telling you all that you can win? Just know, you have the opportunity to win a lot of different technology tools!
Where to stay in Billings
If you have any ideas, please share on our Padlet wall
There are a lot of great and affordable hotels right off the interstate in Billings. Probably the best places to stay are going to be around exit 447 (Lockwood Exit is 452). Here you will find a few places to grab a bite to eat as well. Subway, McDonald's, Burger King are some fast food places. Finnegan's Green is just down the road and has great affordable food.
Places to Stay & Eat While you are Here
FOOD TRUCKS - Get some great food at a convenient location!!
Breakfast and Lunch food trucks will be available!
Coffee provided by Expresso Brake
Pastries provided by Stella's
Lunch available through Cravin' BBQ & JQ Catering
If you don't want to stick around for lunch, which means you will miss out on some great conversations, you can always grab a bite to eat nearby.
Subway, Flying J, Dairy Queen and Jin's Buffet are all right down the road from the school on Old Hardin Road, off exit 455.
After the Summit:
Downtown has some amazing places to eat! Why not try something different:
Lilac, Bin 119, Ciao Mambo, Uberbrew, MT Brewing Company...are just a few choices available. Be sure to ask any facilitator for suggestions. Heck, why not just join some of the facilitators! I'm sure we will be eating out this week!
Hospitality Room:
The hospitality room will have snacks, water and sugar! There are several frig's available if you choose to bring your lunch. Feel free to keep it there. Most of the facilitators stay at the school over the lunch hour to assist attendees with any questions or projects, so you are welcome to join us for lunch!
